Sending Sunshine Western

About us:
Sending Sunshine Western, affiliated with the charity Sending Sunshine, is committed to brightening the lives of seniors by addressing social isolation and loneliness through heartfelt connections with Western students. Our club creates and distributes personalized cards, spreading joy, companionship, and encouragement to seniors who may feel alone. By organizing creative card-making events and meaningful volunteer activities, we foster a supportive community that benefits both seniors and students. Our efforts raise awareness about senior isolation, promote social inclusion, and enhance mental well-being for all participants. Through these initiatives, we strive to make a positive impact on the lives of seniors and the Western University community.

Campfire Circle Western

About us: 

Campfire Circle Western is a student-run club affiliated with Campfire Circle, a camp for children with cancer. We strive to bring individuals from all different backgrounds, camp and non-camp alike, together to create a community on campus with the common goal of having fun and promoting camp spirit. Through exciting and interactive camp-themed programming like camp crafts, club socials, our annual 5k charity race, and more, we aim to raise funds and awareness for Campfire Circle while helping to put the camp in campus! A World University Service of Canada (WUSC) Local Committee is a campus-based group of students, faculty and staff who share our belief in the power of education to change the world. They want to promote global understanding and cooperation and increase understanding of international development issues on campus and in the community.As a Western Local Committee member, you join with others to create change on our campus and community by:1. Purple Spur Society

About us:

The Purple Spur Society (Spur) is Western University’s largest and oldest social charity club. For over 83 years, Spur has embodied Western’s spirit by hosting a variety of social and philanthropic events that unite the campus community. Through these events, ticket sales and donations have helped Spur contribute $45,000 to Childhood Cancer Canada in 2025 alone, and over $180,000 to local charities in the past decade. Spur is dedicated to fostering connection, enhancing the student experience, and championing values of diversity, inclusion, and empowerment—truly living and breathing the spirit of Western.

Friends of Medecins Sans Frontieres

About us:

Friends of Médecins Sans Frontières UWO is a student association affiliated with the international emergency medical humanitarian organization Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF, aka Doctors Without Borders). We are a diverse group of students dedicated to supporting MSF operations through global health awareness initiatives, fundraising, and collaboration within Western, in the London community, and beyond. We enthusiastically welcome members from all disciplines at the undergraduate and graduate levels to reflect MSF’s multifaceted team, including those with medical, finance, logistics, IT, administration, human resources, and communications backgrounds. This year, we’re excited to share events such as the biannual Western University Health & Research Conference, a public health case competition, and myriad opportunities for humanitarian involvement.
