The Western Mooting Society will provide opportunities to network with those already in and those who graduated law school through such competition. Pre-Optometry

About Us:

UWO Pre-Optometry Club 2022-2023:

Mission Statement:

I. To increase awareness, appreciation, and interest in the optometry profession.

II. To create an inclusive atmosphere where students feel comfortable to ask questions and receive support.

III. To provide members with opportunities to volunteer within their community.

IV. To share knowledge on the application process and academic requirements for optometry schools across North America.

Available Positions and Responsibilities:

1st Year Representative – Positions available:

1 1. Promote UWO Pre-Optometry Club events to first years, especially through first year class pages

2. Assist executive team with internal affairs, if necessary

3. Attend all executive meetings to take minutes of our monthly meetings

Finance Coordinator – Positions available:

1 1. Cooperate with VP Finance to oversee all financial dealings of the club

2. Organize a yearly budget according to USC finance regulations

3. Work closely with events team to plan club programs, activities and events within the allocated budget

4. Promote upcoming events

Events Coordinator – Positions available:

1 1. Assist the VP Events with venue-booking

2. Coordinate with executive team to develop proposals for upcoming events

3. Establish and maintain a professional and positive relationship with local volunteer organizations

4. Promote upcoming events

Communications Coordinator – Positions available:

1 1. Assist with recruitment of previous and new members of the club at-large

2. Update UWO Pre-Optometry’s website and various social media outlets (Facebook, Instagram) to engage members in upcoming events

3. Attend general meetings and all executive meetings, and contribute to group discussions

4. Promote upcoming events

Graphics Designer – Positions available:

1 1. Assist the VP Communications and VP Events to design Facebook banners, posters, and graphics for upcoming events

2. Designs must be aesthetically pleasing and eye-catching with the relevant information provided by the Events committee

3. Attend general meetings and all executive meetings, and contribute to group discussions

4. Promote upcoming events

Academic Coordinator – Positions available:

1 1. Become a mentor for students interested in optometry

2. Be well aware and knowledgeable about the optometry school application process

3. Assist students interested in optometry with personal questions regarding the field

UWO Pharmacology Club

About Us: 
UWO Pharmacology Club exists to serve undergraduate students interested in pharmacology (MD, PharmD, research, business) related careers by providing them with the opportunities and resources which include: educational pharmacology content​, monthly interviews with professors/professionals in the field​, information sessions involving medical school, pharmacy school, graduate school, and other pharmacology related industrial jobs​, as well as a mentorship program to help connect undergraduate students. This year we have many new initiatives including the aforementioned mentorship program as well as a fundraiser! Anyone interested in health and science has a place in UWO Pharmacology.
