The Organ Advocacy Initiative (OAI) seeks to engage the community, educate, and encourage student advocacy in an effort to address challenges of the organ donation and transplantation system. The OAI aims to promote the importance of organ donation by sharing the diverse perspectives of patients, donors, clinicians, and policymakers on their experiences related to organ donation and transplantation. Through our unique storytelling campaign and educational activities, members of the OAI will become knowledgeable of the challenges in organ transplantation, and help to increase awareness of organ and tissue donation on campus.

Nishang Club

Welcome to the Nishang Club – a place where you can explore the richness and diversity of China’s ancient traditions, including the four essential skills of a scholar – qin, qi, shu, hua (琴棋书画) and the beauty of Hanfu! Our club is dedicated to promoting and preserving the cultural heritage of China through a variety of events and activities. Members can participate in classes and workshops to learn how to play the guzheng (a traditional Chinese musical instrument), play Chinese chess, participate in Hanfu dress-up parties, learn about Hanfu’s history and significance, and connect with other Hanfu enthusiasts. Through these experiences, members can develop a deeper understanding of China’s rich cultural history and gain valuable skills that can be applied in their daily lives. We look forward to meeting you and sharing the wonders of China’s ancient traditions with plenty of fascinating events.

Western Knit and Crochet is a community of like-minded yarn enthusiasts. This is a place for knitters and crocheters of all skill levels to unite under a shared passion! WKCC is an inclusive space for students interested in knitting and crocheting to form friendships and de-stress by creating anything from stuffed animals to bags and blankets.

Lights, camera, action! Directed by Western is a club for student filmmakers run by student filmmakers. As Western’s only filmmaking club we aim to create short films and monthly film-related zines, while working to uplift diverse voices. Our goal is to build a community of aspiring filmmakers and students interested in film. All levels of experience are welcome. Campfire Circle Western is a student-run club affiliated with Campfire Circle, a camp for children with cancer. We strive to bring individuals from all different backgrounds, camp and non-camp alike, together to create a community on campus with the common goal of having fun and promoting camp spirit. Public health is often incorrectly categorized with the health/medical sciences and does not gain nearly the same level of awareness, which is one of the main reasons WPHA was established.
